Need some advice lads, one to ponder

This is going to be a bit hard to explain, you know when your driving on the motorway and you go over some rough concrete you get a differnt noise as to what it would be like if you were on flat concrete, if you get my drift, well my Noble is doing this once it goes over 80mph, even if you power through to 120 its still there, but not below 80mph. It almost sounds like the wind is taking a different direction over the car. I took it to Mole Vally 2 weeks ago, Greg said to go and get the wheels balanced which I did, still no change, then I took it in again and saw Warren, he mentioned taking off the front splitter to see if that would make a difference, which I am doing this weekend, so I will see if that might be it.

Has anyone had anything like this before, if so please advise, or any advice would be fantastic as this is still baffling me

check the undertray has not come loose and is flapping about

could also be a wheel bearing i guess

Does the car do it on a flat throttle? if not check its not a cracked exhaust manifold

just a thought but,my evo did this and it was the tyres .they were fine up to half worn then the noise got worse and worse till i changed them to toyos and since then all good

Had the same on my scooby. Subaru changed the back diff under warranty only for it to turn out to be the tyres. They'd gone oval as they wore!!

Sounds like something loose under the car - I'd check the undertray first, tyres + exhause (just open the clam and listen to it while somebody revs it) second, bent wheel third..

Might be worth checking the door seals.

I had a similar problem with mine at above 80, spent ages trying to track it down and ended up getting replacement seals from Noble. I replaced the seals and adjusted the window angle and everything has been fine since.

I had an strange rumble at higher speed (80ish) that was caused by a handbrake part fault

This may sound strange mate, but try putting your heater matrix fan dial to re-circ. Then drive at said speed and see if it has gone. It has something to do with the pressure in the cabin??

Well, it worked for me. I seem to remember Joust giving some advice when I had it about a year ago.

if you get it on a rolling road you can listen and observe the car/tyres at different speeds and loads.

To all that responded, thanks very much, am going to Mole Valley on Wednesday and will check the things you have mentioned. Sauceboy, Warren mentioned about the Re-Circ but that did not change anything thats one thing of the tick list. Eddie and Art411Y, those are good suggestions, will try that and keep you posted. Am checking undertray and front splitter on Wednesday.

Its a pain in the ****, hopefully will find the problem
