Visiting Maranello
Discussion
A friend and I are interested in flying out to Italy to visit the home of Ferrari, and also visiting the Lamborghini and Pagani factories.
I haven't really looked into it yet, but how easy is it to get a factory tour? I'm 19 so don't exactly have a nice long history of Ferraris...
Is there lots to do in the town? I guess there are Ferrari museums and showrooms that the public can visit.
How many days would you recommend?
How far away is Sant Agata for Lamborghini?
What's the nearest airport?
How old do you have to be for rental cars?
Public transport any good?
Any more advice or recommendations would be gratefully recieved.
Cheers all!
Andy

As far as I know you have to pre-arrange your tour of the Ferrari factory. I may be wrong, but I was also under the impression that you had to get a dealer over here to arrange it?
Have you got last months EVO magazine? As they did a whole few page article on going over to Italy, where the factories were with map, where to rent cars etc. They did a great trip, with a visit to Pagani etc all within a few days.

I went last year with the owners club and the organiser has spent months trying to sort it out.
You can't just turn up and have a look around, even if you turn up in one of their cars. When we were there there was an american bloke desperately trying to get in but no joy at all.
Other than the factory there is the Galleria museum and the Ferrari Store which sells some very cool (if expensive) stuff.
As Hates said have a look in Evo. I think Lambo & Pagani are a little more laid back and will probably let you have a look around.

Rico,
You can pre booked to see the factory through Ferrari North America. I know it can be done because a few of my friends have done it.
You need to e-mail Myra Rodriguez at FNA.
Her e-mail address is mrodriguez@ferrariusa.com
She will send a Factory Request Form that will need to be filled out. She will need proof of ownershp of your Ferrari.
Her fax number is 201.541.8488.
She will need to know what month you want togo and how many are going.
Please note, You can only goto the Ferrari factory through a Ferrari dealership or this way. You need to own a Ferrari, but you can take as many friends as you want. If you do not own one, let your friend with a Ferrari book then.
I hope this helps you out. The Ferrari dealerships are a pain and the UK FOC is to expensive.
Good Luck....
