The second-generation Dodge Viper could return to international racing competition, according to the French ORECA operation. Hugues de Chaunac’s company, which developed the original Viper GTS-R, has revealed it is in talks with Chrysler about restarting development work on the SRT-10. An evaluation of the car for racing was started in late 2000 prior to the project being canceled the following year.
“We are in close contact with Chrysler about this,” said de Chaunac. “I know they are thinking about the future and have strong memories of our successes in the past.”

yes, ORECA are absolutely gaging for chrysler to give them the go ahead. I think they should definately do it, once the SRT-10 is made into a GT car for le mans for chrysler it will be bought by other GT teams around the world, so chrysler should make a base where other teams can buy the cars and run them. Like weve seen the ORECA vipers in the late 90's and now in the late 90's and 00's we still have loads of racing vipers in world GT series's. From what ive heard chrysler also seem to be very very very keen to do this project, and ORECA even more! So i think this year we will hear confirmation that ORECA and only ORECA are building works vipers for wither 2004 or 2005 Le Mans, the GTS-R is a beautiful car and i love it to death, its the one and only viper. I will never like a car as much as the viper. i like the new sahpe SRT and comp coupe a lot but the GTS-R just has that special character. The GTS-R must by now have broken a fair few GT racing records!
