TVR Owners Trip of Spain and Portugal 2008
Discussion
29th March next year sees the start of the fifth TVR owner’s trip of Spain organised by Jasper Guilder. It is a well-planned 13-day break that includes a track day at the Guadix circuit.
The trip ventures as far South as Granada (near to where the track is located). Three nights stay at this hotel provide the owners a chance to lounge for a few days or, as has been seen in the past - the more adventerous playing among the twisties of the snow capped Siera Nevada mountain range or heading for the South coast and a chance to pose in the sunshine!!
The journey starts with a ferry crossing from Portsmouth to Bilbao, and this year will also take in some of the fine roads and scenery of Portugal. For many of the owners, this will be their fifth year, but new owners are made welcome - the ferry trip to Bilbao usually finds them well and truly part of the group by the time dry land is next seen.
The trip sees the lucky owners wrapped in the luxury of some of the best Paradors and Pousadas in Spain and Portugal at the end of their days driving.
It’s a chance to dust off the winter cobwebs, see some fine scenery, taste excellent food and wines, and get an early start to the track day season. 10 cars are already booked and there are spaces left. It’s highly recommended but should carry a warning – its addictive.
PM me though my profile if you need more details.

What a great trip!
Are you still planning to drive down through France and stay at our place?
We will try to join you for part of the trip, although nothing is sure yet.

A bit like yourselves at the momeent! We'll be going for sure but don't know if we will extend it by driving through Holland and France as yet (probably depends how much spare time is available ie... how complete the race car is for the new season
).Either way, we'll meet up and enjoy a glass or 12 of Rioja

What is the rough cost of this ??
The cost, which does not include travel insurance, European recovery or track day cover, but just about verything else but fuel is £2050.00 per car with one or two persons sharing accommodation. The track day is organised by the Circuito de Gaudix and those participating will need to ensure that their cars are in satisfactory condition and that they bring a helmet. Further details will be issued by the circuit in advance and these will be passed to you. Cost of the track day is also included above.
Ferry crossing and hotel room bookings are based on twin rooms, with inside cabins on the ferry. If you require double rooms or an upgraded ferry cabin, it's available at extra cost (details of those costs I dont have.

Just got back from a bit of a recce. Everything seems in order and the hotels on the run back North are excellent - as are the roads!! If Jeremy Clarkson reckons he's found the greatest driving roads in Europe I have serious news for him.....he hasn't!!
Stop tempting me Jasper!Have to say that I can't recommend this trip highly enough!!
We went on it for our honeymoon in 2006 and had a fantastic time. The organising was spot-on and the experience will never be forgotten.
The trackday at Guadix was a fantastic way to discover exactly what your car is capable of (or, it's limit!).
Great bunch of people to travel with, and the Paradores - Fantastic!
Keep up the good work Jasper!
Cheers

Nice to hear from you Neil, I thought you'd given up with modern technology and gone all lay back and suntanned. Will we see you on the trip for a few days in 2008....along with the easily tempted Gerjo We went on it for our honeymoon in 2005 and had a fantastic time.
