S3 STRAIGHT THROUGH EXHAUST

Hi guys, has anyone got rid of the silencers on their S3 and gone for the loud and proud straight through option? If so what do I need to be aware of when modifying mine?

I'm all for noisy exhausts but that would be really really frikkin loud. I end up with a bit of earache after a couple of hours and mine is still silenced.

how much noisier are the 'sports exhausts' compared to the standard S exhaust?

Dont know if there is such a thing as a 'standard' S exhaust.

I am sure that the next step from my JP sports exhaust would be "good morning ......"

Is that a picture of a girl with a footbal rattle or somone trying to squash ants and is extremely happy about it?

Its the merry chappie who hands out ASBOs if you blow out your neighbours windows at 6:45 every morning when you start your car....

I had a JP system on my S3c… along with stainless manifolds and a decat - it recorded 126dbA and still had the baffles in the tailpipes…!

They are loud, but you get the rumble at idle and the full V6 shriek at higher revs, and some lovely pops and bangs.

In short, do it!

so, JP exhaust, where did you get that from/fitted

anyone know if Guglielmis do anything as will send the beasty there for this throttle mod and FSE valve you all keep harping on about

I had the work done by David Batty.

IIRC Act sell JP stuff, but I’m not sure – might be worth looking at their site.

Mine came from ACT along with the manifolds and decat pipes. All in lovely shiny stainless. Really good quality stuff and Tim at ACT is really helpful. Give him a call....

Hmmmm I know Tim is really helpful. I got my hose kit and water pump from him and he gave me a rather decent discount

sure I read somewhere on here that the ACT exhausts tend to blow from the manifold!!!!!!!!!

Not one I've heard before.

Manifolds on S's do go, but from what I've seen they're factory fit jobs that have been there since day 1...

Not heard that one either - I have ACT manifolds and J-pipes, and Peninsula decat pipes - they all fit together with no blowing.

I wouldn`t do it . Just too loud for comfort. ( ok I'm getting old )
