Coming out of playing footy last night bout 9 ish, I tried to start the Mini, and she didn't want to play. Had the ignition and oil pressure light on, but the engine wouldn't turn. It would jump forward in gear, and managed to bump start it, and it got me the 15 mile home. Turned it off, and tried to restart, no joy again. Any idea's? Not had chance to play with it yet, so gonna see if the lights dim when attempting to start, and tapping the strter with a hammer when I get back from work. Any sequence to try? Gonna clean the terminals on the battery, and battery and engine bay earth. What next? Just priced up a starter, £97 from Minispares! So a cheaper solution I hope!
Its a 93 1275 carb Mayfair, so pre-engaged starter. Cheers.
