Help! A3 - Broken cable on electric lumber support grrr

The damn wire cable on the electric lumber support on my 2003 30k A3 has just snapped! - German quality??!!.
It appears to have gone near a soldered nipple? - i have somehow managed to get the broken one out but was tight!
Long shot - i know but has anyone had experience in replacing these or can a potential repairer be suggested in the Midlands area?
