Apologies as I know that this is a basic question but are the RS4 buckets fixed or do they tilt back?

Thank you!

They tilt back (recline by way of a turn wheel at the side), the side bolsters on the upper and lower parts of the seat can be inflated and there is also a 4-way inflatable lumbar support.

The End. wink

Make sure you really do want the buckets before you buy. There are a number of people who purchased an RS with buckets and in hindsight would have preferred the Recaros. If you intend to track the car on a regular basis I would opt for buckets, however for every day use there is no point unless you like the Max Power look...

I disagree. I drove nearly 2000 miles to the base of Spain in the RS4 (for the EVO article a few months ago) and arrived as fresh as a daisy.

On that experience I bought one for myself (with bucket seats). It all depends on the size of your ar$*..

They may work for you but they don't work for every one. I would be more than happy with buckets on a long run but I do not see the point in buckets in my every day driver unless i'm intending to track the car. If buckets were the be all and end all then most Porkers, Fezzas, Lambo's etc would be spec'ed with buckets!

Buckets are great but make sure you're happy with the entry/exit over the side bolsters (especially when parked on an incline or in a confined space).

my car will not touch a track but I went for buckets

for me they are much more comfortable and hold you much better during spirited road driving/cornering

also love the look of them - not at all max power IMO

only downside is entry / exit is trickier but as I don't have any back problems, am under 40 and not a fattie I don't find this a problem

+ just part of the RS4 spec to me - should have "proper" RS4 wheel and buckets
