Rad fitments

Anyone tell me where and how the Rad is secured on the GTR please?! Been searching for photo's but nothing so far that really shows in detail.

The rad is held in place with rubber 'bobbins' - 2 at the bottom and 2 at the top. There are flanges in the chassis (base and front of the chassis rad housing 'box') which you mount the bobbins to.

I was having a look over your site earlier Stig, couldn't find anypics that I could clearly make out the bobbins in - just needed to check they were indeed top and bottom cheers

I only drilled a pin-hole in the bottom-front panel. So there is only a locator hole for future use. If I need to get in there, I can drill it out bigger. I used a little piece of tape to hold the nut in place while attaching the lowe bobbins to the flange.

I cut a 20mm hole in the ali plate under the bobin to allow for access to undo it if it ever fails. I then used a blank grommet to cover the hole. Just a small mod but it looked like a real sod to change if it goes... which it probably never will.. :-)

I did almost the same but trapped a short piece of ali tube between the two skins. From below I can just insert the required size socket.
As you say having done all this extra work it will likely never fail.
