Headlight crome ring questions

Getting there with the respray of the S, should be ready in about a month so to the little details.
I read on forums that the crome outer rings for the headlights are from a MGB or Mini, can anybody confirm this?
Also that a tab is needed to solder on, the fixing tab I would guess?
What vehicle does the inner ring with the 3 tabs to locate the glass in with come off? Same vehicles as the outer?

Also where have people obtained these items? Any good suppliers out there you would recommend?

I have replaced the glass headlights when I got the car so am ofay with the taking apart and bits etc.

Any advice welcome as would like to replace these items for the rebuild and get back on the road to make some wonderful noise!

I bought a couple of "classic mini" headlamp bowls complete with the retaining rings, then used land rover crystal headlamps.

I picked up a couple of classic mini chrome rings at a classic car show. You have to fit a couple of wee tabs for the retaining screw - I drilled my old ones off and then pop-riveted them on to the new rings.

Good quality and great service, didn't need to fix any tabs on either. Just give them a ring and tell them its for a TVR S and they will send the right ones.

Regards the inner ring. I tried some Mini ones and they didn't fit. I had Wipac (5400S??) bowls and the chrome inner ring has 3 tabs plus some holes/slots for the adjusting screws. The replacement Mini ones just had the 3 tabs. I ended up buying a complete pair of bowls just for the 2 rings - about £20 delivered last year.

i bought 2 new classic mini crome rings from ebay and they fitted brilliant, i lost one from my v8s prior to buying these, mine are not secured via rivit or screws as it spoils the car , i have now used doulbe sided carpet tape cut very need and fitted to the inside of the ring, it's very secure and if i need to remove it i can get it off with manual pulling, ebay have some for sale now look
