Is the whole video something I can buy in the shops? Like *right now*?

Would Clarkson make a good figurehead for ABD, or would he put off more people than he turned on?

wasn't this on Sky Digital last Saturday?

He tested a modded Nova against his 5.2 litre SDI. Then a Skyline against a Cerbie 4.5, a Brabus SL and various other stuff...

MikeE,

Thats the one - I bought the video! Was it really on Sky Digital? If it is then bugger - time to get rid of NTL cable and get something decent after all.

Cheers,

Paul

Pbrettle, you can get sky digital on NTL you have to ask for digital box though, you can then get all the packs. I only have the base and entertainment pack. It will save you time on getting a dish fitted. Just thought you'd like to know.

I've just watched this video and my big question is: What the h**l does that Capri have under the bonnet? It made the Brabus Merc look like a Ford Fiesta.

Ah, so an upgrade to NTL digital should have the channels? Would be a pain to loose the broadband internet connection - maybe worth calling them and waiting for 40 minutes before speaking someone that may be vaguely interested in selling me NTL digital then.....

Then again, I might just chop my arm off - it is easier.

Cheers,

Paul

Oh, and yes - does anyone know about that Capri that is on the video. Would be interested to know what the hell it has to make it go that fast!

Anyone know about it?

IIRC that capri has a cosworth engine - the legendary 1998cc turbo 4, runnning about 500 BHP on something daft like 2.2 bar boost!

Very little can beat it in a straight line, not too sure about the conering ability though

Bet it's a right laugh to drive though

Bag of cement in the boot would sort out the handling

Paul, if you have your phone with NTL, you can cancel telly and keep the cable modem. I'm paying 18 quid a month for the broadband connection and some line rental.

Beware - in some areas NTL Digital is a bit flakey. I got fed up with the picture dropping out constantly, and the cable box crashing, so I ditched it for Sky. Just in time to find that Sky are having problems with digiboxes crashing due to their latest Personal Planner software being sh1te. Still, picture's better when it's working.

That Capri was at Trax 2001, saw it do some impressive 0-60 sprints, I believe its 4x4 as well.

AFAIK, The standard looking 2.8 Capri in the Clarkson video has got underpinnings from a Sapphire Cossie 4x4 including transmission, gearbox 2litre 4cyl turbo cossie motor. If it wasn't for the added traction from 4wd, I reckon the Brabus would have had it. Similarly for the Skyline vs Cerbera. As soon as both cars werre gripping, it wasn't any faster than the TVR despite supposedly having twice the power. 800 brake or whatever - MY AR$E...! Selectable 4wd in a Cerbie and a bit clutch. Oooh, great for the 0-60's

I was surprised how close the Cerby was as well, IMO a good Skyline should give around 550bhp which is certainly more realistic.

Anyone for the Overfinch?
