I have got a set of mini pistons which belive are for 998 and the markings on the top of the piston are "front m2050 f12" is this right? The piston has a 3/4 moon raise instead of the flat ones I have seen in the past
Can any one help?
Cheers

I don't have the part number list to hand, but the raised top in the shape of a 1/2-moon suggests that they are 998 Cooper pistons to be used with a 12G295 head to obtain the correct Comp. ratio. If they are new, then they are like 'gold dust' as they are no longer available, the best currently available being flat-top ones.

Sounds like they may be from the 998 Cooper. The 12G295 head has very large combustions chambers, so pistons with raised 'D' shaped sections were used on the 998 to get the compression ratio up to a reasonable level.

EDIT: Oops too slow biggrin
