Tickets, car, route, tent all sorted.

What about Beer?

OK, there is a beer tent, but how much booze are people bringing?
I'm trying to get an idea of what will be happening. Considering a fair few of us will be driving in the early evening (to Stratford) and that beer is available in the beer tent what kind of quantities are we talking?

Should I bring a 10 pack or a crate is basically what I'm asking? Whats everyone else doing?

Always have beer, in case of disaster. The beer tent might blow away in a storm or something.

You mean some inconsiderate bloke in a large V8 engined beast turns his car over next to the tent and blows it away!

We'll just call up the local cash and carry.....

"Hello, I would like to order 10000 bottles of beer, 1000 pies, 2000 dry roasted peanuts, 100 bottles of spirits, do you deliver?"

Seriously though, reckon if the general vibe is for beer tent drinkage I will just bring a few 6-packs and a bottle of something "to keep me warm"

Just to give you guys an idea, there is 18 ton of booze being delivered, and that's without pies etc!!!!!
Oh, and for backup, the same is available from our warehouse nearby, 50 times over.

18 ton isn't that much given the demographic discussed in a previous thread... although 18 ton of beer works out at 3960 gallons of booze - or - 31,670 odd pints.

Take a little snifter so you're sure - but I would encourage everyone to also use the beer tent (to buy and consume beer that is - not piss in it...)

I seem to remember from a previous thread that the beer tent is a mismomer and should be called the lager tent since it isn't going to have any draught beer as such.

In which case I will be bringing a crate or two of John Smith's Extra Smooth and may even be persuaded to share some of them.

18 tonnes?
That means every pistonheader will be driving away on Sunday with about 10 extra stone of beer belly! Excellent

How about a "Turbo Shandy"?

Half pint lager, half pint smirnoff ice.
Goes down like water and gets you pretty hammered
