remember slow cookers dont just do english / western food...some bloody good chinese slow-cooked dishes, often using very cheap cuts.
pork shoulder + lots of spices + sweetness (honey etc) x 6hrs in the slow cooker = delicious

I have done a good Lamb Rogan in the slow cooker - problem is I work from home so after a couple of hours the smell makes me very hungry!

Must get another slow cooker soon - great for just one person meals for a few days
Tesco are doing one for 20 quid. Or (cos you've had a crap year) we've got one with a slightly er flat handle on the lid which you can have until your year gets better, cos I read the bit that says you can put the pot in the oven, but not the bit that says you can't put the lid in the oven.

Ok, well I do almost put everything in the slow cooker. We both leave for work at 6.30am and I get in at 7pm and him at 7.30, so we've experimented with the slow coker out of laziness.
I do all of the following in the pot: chilli (any recipe), bolognese sauce, sausage casserole, steak in guinness, pie fillings (not fish though), cassoulet. If you want "recipes" (I just chuck stuff in really) then mail me.
One of the nicest casseroles I do is pork, with ginger, flaked almonds, apricots, cinnamon, nutmeg, star anise, coconut milk, tomato puree.
Lamb shanks are an obvious, but I also do 'roast' chicken or lamb (studded with rosemary and garlic) in the slow cooker. No good if you want your lamb pink, but absolutely delicious, and if you sit it on peeled carrots, celery and shallots, then you end up with the best gravy ever.
Prod me some more in a few days...
