TVR 3000M at Spa

I got back from Spa Francorchamps yesterday, where I'd been at the 6 Hours historics weekend.

The weather in the Ardennes was fantastic, the grids stellar, and the company in rude health.

I stuck my camera on the car of Julian Barter, HSCC class winnner in his TVR 3000M...

That Corvette may have more grunt but the lines the driver took were terrible and it was good driving that got past him

At first i thought it was an edited sound track placed over the top. It sounds like something from the film le-mans. Cool.

Congratulations on providing us mere mortals with such a clear insight into what it is like driving a car under these cicumstances. These clips put the professional media to shame. Can we get our activities onto that bastion of camp broadcasting - Top Gear - and show them what real motoring is all about.

Class win at Spa with co-driver and owner David Grace.


A few weeks before, the first time he sat in or drove Gracee's Big Healey. It's a pukka FIA 1960 Healey 3000 Mk1 with a Dennis Welch engine - it revs to 7000rpm! So, a bit circumspect to begin with while get comfortable ...then off RACING! This is the first three laps - final result was a Class Win.

I'm going to revive an extremely old thread here as I would like to know if anyone has any contact details for Julian Barter as I would like to ask him a few questions regarding his 3000m he races in the HSCC.
