We bought an 'S'

Nick mentioned it as I left yesterday, didn't get to chat sorry, what with my two little ones getting bored and tired.
Congrats, it'll be interesting to see how you and Ray compare the S with the Saggy and Cerb, the S is in a very different league, but smiles-for-miles there is little to beat it.

No...It's Italian Monza Red.

how cool is that.
We have the orginal spec sheet and bill of sale from Kerridges.
50,000 genuine miles with her only having done 34 in the last 3 years to the MOT station and back again.
Tyres were perished underneath, so a new set went on the wheels yesterday.
Chassis, outriggers and underneath all looks fine. A little rust, but surface only and Ray is under there now as I type administering loads of tlc.
The paintwork does need attention.
It has been stored in a garage and the paint has 'bloomed' in places and there are grout droppings all over it. (The guy was a general builder and didn't bother to move it out of the garage sometimes
)
Wheels okay, but needs the laquer taken off cos it's flaky and needs re doing.
Have already searched on this forum for info and you guys are very helpful, but any more advice appreciated.
Engine runs as sweet as anything.
Couldn't take her far only round the block cos the MOT ran out in Sept 07.....but the gear stick is a bit farther back MGB GT style than I'm used to and Ray says it's cos I've been driving the Peril that I felt the brakes needed attention. He says I'll have to get used to those.
Originally it was going to be a new tyre, mot and re sell jobby............despite my pleading!!
But Ray spent an hour on one door on the worst 'bloom' bit and the result was just staggering.....it came up an entirely different Red.....just amazing.
So...that was it...I said I'd lay in the road to prevent anyone taking it away....so he is doing it all 'spot on' now.
He's out there at the moment pressure washing and preparing the chassis for a complete winter overhaul cos she has to stay outside.
Actually, he's having the time of his life...really enjoying it and it helps when anything he does makes such a difference.
I have some pics....will load them and post them up shortly.

To be honest, I've never seen a Yellow 'S'..........
I think she looks lovely just as she is.
I did fleetingly mention Spectre Flair Silver, but the look of horror on Ray's face said it all.
I have already been advised to get Gliptons leather cleaner and restorer and I'm hoping that will take the dirt from the leather cracks and generally make the leather softer.
But.....just look at this walnut dash.....isn't it just beautiful...........
Will post up before and after pics as we go along and I hope I don't bore you all to death.....

Very nice. Glad to see that another S has been "rescued" from a long hiberbation and is being put back on the road where it should be 
It may not, sorry I mean WILL not, have the performance (or as you've discovered already, the brakes) like the Sagaris, but the S WILL be fun and enable you to enjoy some soft top motoring. As we all know in this forum that is much better that having a roof and airconditioning
