The V6 one, got father in law who own 390SE which sounded gorgeous. Never hear the V6 "S" series, do they make nice rumble?

I have owned an S and now have a Taimar, both with V6 engines (different types) and both sound fantastic.

Problem is, you never really know what your car sounds like from the outside. After I got the Griff, Mrs Profstoff and I went for a drive, she in the S and me in the Griff. We pulled up alongside each other at a set of traffic lights and as we pulled away I heard the car and I can definitely say what a great sound it was.

At one of the PistonFest’s someone came round with a soundmeter… both my S and M@H’s were louder than most of the Cerbie’s… hehe

The volume of sound is one thing (and I'm not decrying that for a second) but the quality of the sound is also important. Hell, you can make a 1.2 Corsa sound loud with a beancan exhaust, but is still sounds crap. The S sounds good, IMHO, even when (or maybe if) it isn't as loud as some others.

my S3 with the Peninsular s/s system on sounded so much better than my Chim, and that's got no cats and sleeved rear box (i.e. straight through)

Hmm tempting to buy "S" series now, what the insurance like? should be ok for classic policy.
