I have a 2002 A3 tdi 130 which has been a great car from new.

Over the last month or so, after it has been started [not every time] it beeps about three or four times from the rear passenger side.

Any ideas what this might be, and how do i get it to disappear again?

thanks

Richard

I'm not going mad then...my S3 does that occasionally too!

Anyone know what it is?

If it's the same as the TT it's a warning that a backup battery is getting low.

Battery back up to what, and is this a buy and plug in or a visit to the 'stealer'?

Alarm I think, and not sure about the replacement.

Agree sounds like the alarm siren is on the way out...as far as I understand you cannot just change the batteries, it has to be the whole unit at around £50-60.

Our (2001) A2 started doing it too the other week ... but we've just sold it so that's one less thing to worry about smile

Try doing some longer journeys with no lights, afaik they need charging.
