Oh yes please!! No money or racing licence but love the idea.... There's a good article in this month's Sprint of a ride in a two seater Tuscan with Michael Caine at the wheel which scared the passenger silly. I'm sure it would scare me sillier but I'd love to do it!
I know it's really sad, but does anyone know if you can go and watch them testing anywhere? I miss the noise...

I don't know about Tuscan testing, probably best to contact one of the drivers, Jay Shepherd for instance.
You can find him on www.id-club.com, no doubt you will have seen the various references to their driver training sessions on Pistonheads. They are in the process of arranging the next lot at the moment and are looking at all next week.
I guess you are not that far away as it is at Bruntingthorpe nr. Leicester and I believe they will have a session on Saturday. Even if you don't want to give it a go yourself it's worth the chat.

Oops, probably misled you there. I was referring to the 1 to 1 intensive training that they (International Drivers Club) offer to anybody who cares to sign up for 2.5 hours of accompanied training and permanent grin fixing on the track at Bruntingthorpe. I believe they also do gift vouchers so it could solve that Christmas present problem without even going to the shops. I reckon it's a great idea because you don't have to choose size, colour, style or anything, one size fits all and who on this site would prefer anything else?

yes you are right that the changes in rules for next year are more restrictive than previously but there is still sufficient time for testing at each track, and also options during the season (according to TVR) for the occasional extra day. So... if you are interested start saving quickly!!!
Don't forget, No 'B' licence?... now worries, we'll get you through the test no problem!
BTW, Jay (Shepherd) who you mentioned is actually already involved in this testing offer as he is giving 1-1 tuition to the lucky tester at the beginning of the season, in my car. As you probably know, he drove my car last year in the championship and did really well (fighting for 1st & 2nd place regularly).

Also on the id-club web site (design/programming compliments of yours truly) there are customer comments about the trackdays etc. Believe me when I say that Jay is known in the UK as one of the top instructors, so to do a 1-2-1 course with him is well worth the money. I'll be doing mine shortly... let you know what happens. Dying to know how the Caterham compares to the race Tuscan.

Yes, Martvr, I do know about my nickname - must have something to do with my inclination for cars which drink petrol the way I like to drink champagne....

Waaaaahooooo, can that guy control a car or what? Just done a few laps with him (chauffering) in the Caterham this afternoon after a session at Bruntingthorpe. Excuse me Jeeves, can you slow down a touch cos we won't get round this corneeeeeeeeer, oh we just did; time to unclench - is that a word? anybody need an explanation?
