I'm increasingly nervous about my RV8 engine rebuild from those reliable chaps at Autocraft after reading the horror stories about their speed 6 efforts.
Mine's running fine after 2000miles but wonder if anyone else has experience of RV8 rebuilds by Autocraft.
Any experiences gratefully appreciated,
Laurence

Just an idle thought - at four weeks to build an engine it's possible that you are the only one. hippy

That was my engine you saw (well whats left of it) when you had your Tam in last week.

A very sorry state of affairs.

I have found a 2006 engine out of a Tusc 2 which the boys are dropping in for me, so hopefully I will be back on the road soon and can put the whole sorry saga behind me.

Surely if the business is not around any longer then naming and shaming would be difficult to apply?

YIKESyikes, that was a close call. Nearly chose Autocraft for my speed 6 upgrade, but chose Richard at Dulfords to do the engine upgrade instead, and I take my hat off to him bow for doing such a first class engine rebuild/upgrade. Best decision I've made.

Someone will still own the rights to the name and may see an opportunity to make some money out of libellous statements. After all they have nothing to lose anymore.

I'm pleased that this thread remains unlocked but I'm also surprised.

And where is the company going to get monies to take you to court

True, but its also the workers we want to be sure not to as well. Its a fine line I know.

They are without assets so any legal action for libel would have to be at someone's personal expense as I understand it (unless they get legal aid which I don't believe they would in these type of cases).

Cant see how this differs to the slagging the MG/Rover directors got on here when that folded.

If you are unhappy then say so.

Dunno, I'm so glad I took Fernhurts advice and went with TVR Power tongue outhew: I remember someone last September advising me that I should have gone to craft as they had Al Mellings backing (he sounded so confident and got me worried)...just gotta take advice off the right people I guess. I, at the time beleived I was right, guess this confirms it? Saved a few grand too thumbup just wish the spd 6 could last more than the average 30,000 miles then I'd still have the confidence to keep her frown

Don't know, maybe in the past, or there again maybe not. Engine has'nt blown up since the upgrade, and I've done 5,500 miles since ?
