There doesn't seem to be many going from mid-essex but I will be travelling anti-clock round to the M40 on the M25 (picking up my bro just off Junc 24). Anybody know the way from there I could follow?

I'll be going that route from Barnet if you want to tag along. I'll be going Saturday morning/lunchtime though..

What time do you envisage getting to the M25/M40 junction Ben?

p.s. - we heard you the first time!

I guess some of us Oxford people will be heading up the M40, Could maybe meet a service station at a fixed time - Cherwell Vale, that could be quite funny, big meet of nice cars and then a big cruise across to the 'fest... I don't actually know the way!!!

Best route from the M40 if you're meeting at Cherwell Valley services is to take the Banbury turn off (junction 11) and then follow A422, which is not only a good driving road but takes you right to Stratford.

At Stratford you'll come to a roundabout by a Shell garage. Turn left onto the A3400 and continue straight over the next roundabout, just after which you take the first turn off on the right (B4632).

Follow the B4632 about 4 miles and it takes you right to Pistonfest. Or past it if you miss the turn. Look out for a layby/sliproad by a barn on the left. The entrance to Shakespeare County Raceway is just a few hundred yards further on, on the right.

I'm up for hooking-up with others somewhere (travelling from Potters Bar area Sat am/dinnertime).

How's about M25/J23 South Mimms Services and another hook-up on the M40?

Hey Rich-UK, are their services or somewhere to meet there or near? What time on Sunday? How about you Ben (incorrigible)?

I don't know where the nearest services are on the M40, but there is a Tesco just off J3 where we can meet!

Rich,

You're right, but you can't get back on the M40 to go north at J3. Wycombe 6 cinema at J4 is your best bet.

Anyone meeting there on the Saturday?

It is either:

1. J40 M3 (Tesco) and up through Wycombe
2. J4 M40 (Asda or John Lewis)
3. Oxford Services (J8?)
4. Cherwell Valley Services (J10)

Opinions everyone?

Rich - YHM.

What time at ASDA? I'm thinking about 9.0am.

SUNDAY MORNING

I've got these instructions:

'Yes it is near the A404 (which takes you to Marlow/Maidenhead/M4). When you come off at jct4 (Handycross roundabout), the road splits into 4 lanes, get into the lane for the A4010(Aylesbury), follow this lane round to take the third exit off the round about(on the left will be a hotel/inn), come off at this exit. You will come to a mini roundabout turn left here and you will have the Cinema on you left. Follow the road down past TGI Fridays, another mini roundabout, left here into ASDA carpark.

So its litterally 2 mins away from jct4. ASDA is on Holmers Farm Way'

Looks easy enough to me! According to the AA, it should take 1 1/2 hours from J4 to PF.

We could meet at 8:30ish to leave at 9:00.

This looks like it! 8.30 for 9.00am. Come one come all. Please indicate if you will be joining us at ASDA so we'll know who's late (other than me!).

Rich, any problems I'll call you. Likewise for you, OK?

Weather looks acceptable-ish so far.

How far up the M40 are you going?

If you are going past J8 - Oxford Services or J10 - Cherwell Vale, I/ we could hook up. If so what sort of time?

Branching off at Cherwell (J10?) - leaving J4 around 9.00-ish but i've no idea how far it is to J10. You guess and we'll collect you en route.

edited to say we'll be taking j11 - see route below.
