So, what with everything being up in the air, I went to the ACO today to see what is happening. Well, it seems that the new stadium might be built or it might not. I was told that in principle the town council had sold the old stadium to a property developer but then found that there is a problem with the sale because under the original deed of sale the land can never be developed and must either remain a sports ground or become a park. So the ACO now have no idea whether it will exist or not. No sponsor has signed yet although there are rumours of Bouyges telephones signing. All rumours of course.

Being typically french though, they have already taken reservations for Houx Annexe, so I asked what they will do with those people if it isn't available. They shrugged. Not her problem - a decision will be made at the time. However, a part of the old Annexe will be available, so I asked her if I could be sure that Pistonheads members could actually be sure of staying there. Her reply was that if I know the numbers, perhaps she could do something. Now it is still all a mess, but if those of you who have already tried to book contact me then perhaps I can do something, but as always I can't be sure. What is sure though is that even at the moment you think you have reserved you may well find yourselves put elsewhere as per available space, and not all together, if things go tits up. I can only do my best. I need to know numbers ASAP so at least I can discuss on your behalf with the ACO. Now I know White Rabbit and others say they have an inside track to the ACO so I don't want to confuse matters or cross anyone's line of communication, so if they think all is OK then they had better make sure PDQ. From what she said today it appears not.

We are a group of 15 that camp in Houx Annexe every year and normally book through Page & Moy. Because of the rumours for next year we are not sure what to do.I have made a provisional booking with 1st Tickets but have heard nothing.I will also contact Page & Moy in Dec as normal and see what happens.Somehow we will be there, even if we camp outside the track.

Interesting stuff Lowdrag. About what I have heard as well. Have sent you an email.

@RVVUMN, I just tried to message you as well but it doesn't want to work. Any chance you can drop me your details through the PH mail so I can get in touch.

Cheers all!

Isn't this the same as every year... You put your request in and wait for the ACO to issue their selections... It's always a mess and we have been booking HA tickets on the bookings opening day for about the last 10 years+....

All the huge groups are ruining things for the smaller groups anyway IMHO, why should Pistonheads members get special treatment from the ACO... There are plenty of PHers in Houx Annexe and have been for many many years... Keep it as it was..

Thanks very much for the information. I have stayed on HA for the last twelve years and have usually booked direct with the ACO. Each year it seems to become more of a hassle, even when booking more than a year in advance. This year I didn't bother as I didn't want to end up in some far flung marsh if HA wasn't available. I would be very interested in a PH booking is this were possible.

To make it clear, E36GUY is in charge of this. He is doing the Pistonheads bookings. I will only now assist the club booking in any way I can, not individuals. Sorry Guy to have not made this clear. One block booking only is envisaged if possible.

Mate, assist individuals as you wish. Not everyone will want to come with what we are doing. I'm just going to be putting together a big PH party. Details will be announced in the next few days!

A bit cheeky, but if it is unlikely that a PH group can secure a large area in the Annexe at this late stage, even if the full annexe site is available, why not register an interest of a group booking with all the agencies. They cannot take deposits yet, and as the Annexe is not allocated pitches, once you have the allocations regardless of their source, you can set up camp anywhere you want.
Bear in mind, that the Annexe is over-subscribed anyway with existing and long term bookings, so the chances of you getting the annexe at all is remote. The only downside is you will have to pay a little over the odds. But it is always worth it.

My two penneth.

We're not just looking at the Annexe. It's hardly the be all and end all of locations despite what some may claim. All campsites have great atmospheres. People loyal to the Annexe just get used to going to that spot. Regardless of the location - and it won't be Beausejour! - we'll be putting on something good!

Damnit, you're such a tease! How are we meant to get work done when you keep throwing crumbs of information in our direction.

If I sign up I'm now expecting a personal ferris wheel and lap-dancing tent!

Are you and White Rabbit going in together? Or did I dream that somewhere?
