Yeah, I know it's a long way off, but does anyone know the dates for 2004? Someone mentioned 19th/20th June, but is this confirmed?

it will be the middle weekend of june, something like the 13th/14th, it always is... 19th/20th is too late

the test days are 5 weeks before that on the first weekend of may, around the 2nd...

"Just Tickets" says the following when I asked them when tickets will be available for 2004:

Not until later in the year October/November time. If you wish to book
for next year the best advise I can give you is to secure your booking for
next year with a Deposit of £50 per vehicle. This will secure any
Campsite/Grandstand you may want.

The ACO say the provisional dates for 2004 are 12th and 13th June. But they are by no means confirmed yet.

In my experience, it's normally the third Sunday in June so that would make it the 19th and 20th.

19th & 20th would make the most sense as its the weekend nearest the longest day of the year, and isnt that how they decide when to hold it? ie least hours of darkness there's likely to be. I could be (and probably am) wrong though.

Now, that's the best idea I've heard... can you organise the other "100,000 or so" people to be there?

As daft as it sounds I really like the idea of going to Le Mans when the race isn't on visit the museum, cruise around the area visit some of the places on route, Another idea may be to stay on after the race for a few days, anyone know how long the place takes to get back to 'normal' after the race, are all the hotels empty by Tuesday night

my brother did that a couple of years ago, visited the museum etc and abused the road between the mulsanne roundabout and porsche curves. He said it seemed a bit strange with no race related activity going on but highly enjoyable nontheless

That would be a good PH weekend - go down late Friday to miss all the cops, stay until Tuesday for general track lapping and museum perusing, along with wine tasting etc. Nice 4 day shindig!

BCA,

IIRC, it was so that it didn't clash with some tossy Roland Garros tennis thingy going in Paris?
