All

Was reading the latest news letter form the ABD and it got me mad.
Herr Blair blatting on about reducing speed and all thatsh!te.

Wonder why cant the money from the cameras cant be put towards positve use like Driver Ed, putting up speed limit signs so people actually know the limit, etc paying for the normal motorist to take the Advanced Driving lessons etc

And the bit that really got me mad was that the number of pedestraisn killed went up. The pedestrains were drunk and walking along the side of a road with no visible marking and yet we the motorists are responsible for their actions, Iam truly sorry that any one gets hurt by a car bike etc but surely some of the blame must lie with the pedestrains and not the motorist

and if they allow "common folk" the powers to give people speeding tickets then I'm joining on and very copper and granny etc is getting a speeding ticket !!

Could go on but wont

yeah, agree.

I got my ABD letter, and it's looking very grim out there.

B'stards are going to be getting a lot more mobile camera units, and they are sods to detect, even with a good detector...

One I saw,was hidden totally in some bushes on the A414. Sort of road where 90mph is comfortable. But also 30mph over the top. So a safe speed can get you a ban.

Bloody pedestrians are getting more arrogant as days go past. Atleast the kids round my way think the road is a sodding playground.

Rant justified. If Mr. Anthony Blair and his incompetent yes-men/yes-women had to drive to work they might realise how infantile their endless attack on speed really is.

We need new roads, road improvements, driver education, pedestrian education and, most of all, politician education from the top all the way down to local councillor level.

These things may come. Then again pigs might fly. Who knows? The one factor likely to change attitudes is TOTAL road seizure (coming your way soon). When people can't get to work at all the nation has a problem..... forget public transport - where it's useful it's used, but it will take something revolutionary for it to replace the car in the forseeable future.

I remember getting a telling off once when I got pulled for speeding (30 outside a school with a posted 30mph limit - DUH!)

He must have turned from a side road after I had passed, as I did not see any cop car. He follows me down the road at about 30mph, then flashes his light (note I said LIGHT not LIGHTS). I don't stop or anything as I don't know who it is. Then the blues come on and I pull over.

He asks me why I didn't pull over when he flashed and I told him that as a rule I don't normally pull over when someone with a broken front light and not wearing a seatbelt (I only knew about the seatbelt as I stopped before him and he didn't release any belt before he got out - hence not wearing it in the first place) flashes me. He looks at the front of his car and then turns back to me.

He tells me that I should slow down around schools even if the limit is 30mph. When I point out that it's a Saturday he just says that it's best to do it all the time and then you won't have to know the day/time!

Obviously not used to driving a cop car then - as we all know, even if it doesn't belong to you, the driver is accountable for checking the vehicle is roadworthy prior to use.
