air vents?

Hello everybody.I 'm still happy driving my S1, but I would like to lower the temperature under the bonnet by installing "air vents" somewhere ( without disturbing the aesthetic of the car).I wonder if somebody got the same idea and found an acceptable system.I thought to make some cut-out
in the top of the bonnet, close to the windshield, or put vent grills on the sides...better to think twice and cut once!
By the way, I'd like to increase the height of the car (mine is very low)by changing the springs lenght, but I do'nt know the rating of the springs; if you can help....many thanks!!
