I'm on my way, how's the weather?
Weather is perfect. 17C , no midges, tourists or clouds in the sky.
Locations:
1: Between Achnasheen and Lochcarron (*probably* the best road in the UK in my opinion - certainly the quickest - just watch out for the deer, a motorcyclist hit one at 180mph a while back and spent 11 months in hospital)
2: Just south of Ullapool (the road back to Gairloch)
3: Looking over Loch Torridon and Shieldaig (right) on the road from Applecross
4: Up the Bealach towards Applecross
5: Glen Docharty (between Achnasheen and Kinlochewe)
6: Up the Bealach towards Applecross
7: Just past Achnasheen on the Gairloch road
8: Up the Bealach towards Applecross
9: By little Loch Broom, south of Ullapool

Knew i recognised some of them! I travelled those roads back in 2000/2001, when i did some drilling works in Gairloch for a water treatment works (sorry!
)
I had a great time there, and was lucky enough to have the worlds fastest car up there during my time, with which to thrash around those roads!! (Vauxhall Astravan, TDi
). Actually it was a surprisingly sorted chassis for a van....
Lovely roads and areas though - luckily for me the drilling was a bastard and i got to spend much of the time driving to new places on roads like that and photographing those areas, whilst waiting for the drillers to return from their base. Certainly sitting here in Aus and looking at that scenery, it just doesn't compare! Those views win, hands down!

I know they aren't, but:
Photo 2 and photo 6 look like they could be somewhere in the US or Canadian Rockies.
Photo 5 reminds me a lot of the descent northwards down the Kirkstone Pass towards Ullswater.
There can't be many photographers who can make roads look that good!
