What is anti-freeze? Is it something to do with the Sag's air-con system?

It's late, I'm bored - stuck in a hotel in Norway, telly on the blink, trying to put off going to bed, Sag's in the car park at Stansted, PH Board my only entertainment.......

So, anti freeze, what I do is I ask TVR Centre in Barnet to make sure my car has some when it needs it. What does everyone else do?

(Just trying to get your thread back on track)

Wayne,
car needs anti-freeze in winter, i know i have little experience of sp6 but they are not alien technology
anti freeze to stop water freezing and popping out core plugs
and as i tend to top up sag every week with water, this must dilute it, so, i was asking what the mixture of water to anti freeze was. as cant be bothered to phone DM,( dont ask)

I only top up with distilled water not tap water.

ETA; the workshop can test your coolant fluid to see how far below zero your car is protected.

Steve, how much water does the car take when you top it up everey week? Have to admit, I've never looked at the water levels (except the washers) as I expect my on board diagnostics to tell me if things are getting a bit hot, or, for that matter if there's a change in oil pressure/trmperature that would necessite investigation. Am I being a bit optimistic (or possibly stupid?)

honestly.
since i had lots of over heating probs, had a extra switch installed to turn on fans when ever i thought it needed it.
i check it once a week, maybe do 200miles a week in sag, it always needs topping up a bit even 1/4 ltr- 1/2ltr so if it only takes 7-9 ltr of fuild in first place, i kinda started to think in two months anti freeze would be low. see where i`m going with this

Wow, one lives and learns, I'll check it from now on. I have the TVR Power eprom fitted that (among other things) brings the fans in at 88 degrees, guessing that helps with overheating issues but saying that I've never had any.
