355 badly keyed - advice please
Discussion
Hi All,
My (mint) 355 got badly keyed whilst en-route to Le Mans last week. (bonnet, doors, rear 1/4 panels, front wings, rear grill, boot lid)
Any advice on getting it repaired ?
It happened in a secure hotel carpark. The hotel reckoned their insurance would pay out as it had happened before. Got a letter from the manager and all the paperwork from the police (I made a complaint)
I plan on calling my insurers today to deal with it all.
How do i avoid my insurers dictating where it gets repaired ? I'm not keen on getting it repaired at a non-specialist.
tia

Update:
Awaiting the insurers to call me - the claims people said that they only use specialist repair shops - mostly main dealers so it shouldn't be a problem.
I just hope it can be fixed "good as new".
I raged for a few minutes then remained calm:
1.. Local Police were very good about it
2.. Hotel Mgr was sympathetic and wrote a letter for my insurers
3.. I was determined that my weekend wasn't going to be spoiled by some inadequate cnut.
4.. I was thinking about a front respray anyway - maybe now I'll get it for free

I used to own TVR,s, and now a C5 Corvette, these cars are nice motors, not in the same league as Ferraris and Lambo's, however even I have experienced envy and resentment from some motorists and pedestrians, hand gestures etc. Perhaps its a British thing, I have not noted the same behaviour in the USA etc. Anyway personally when I see a Lambo or Ferrari on the road I like most other people think good on you mate beautiful car, don't let the small minority af jealous people get you down.

They really went at it didn't they. Gits. I hope something slow, very painful and terminal happens to them soon.
Very sorry to hear about this. Its beginning to worry me every time I leave the Porsche somewhere I can't see it. You'd think that a secure car park would be someplace you needn't worry about it...
Best of luck.
thanks for all messages.
it happened in one of the popular french ports, well-known hotel chain, in their underground car park at the port.
can't be too specific - claim pending.
I'm having the car collected by a main dealer next week for a quote. hopefully get it back soon. can't bear to drive it as is.
