Clearly this question is really asking what speeds were attained on the various private testing facilities between Le Mans and the various ports and the tunnel. Graciously provided for our enjoyment by the French people. Merci!!
Oh and were any of the french police who were observing at the testing facilities so impressed that they felt the need to personally congraulate you and allow you to pay a little extra towards the costs of providing such splendid facilities.

One guy got a 700 Euro !!
Whilst I accept responsibility for my heavy right foot, I did think it was totally off, for the confiscation of the licence bit. There were a number of people who were pulled with me, who were single drivers and had to find someone to drive their car home - fine, points, whatever I'll accept for my actions, but not being able to drive home ridiculous.

We were a bit careful between LM and Rouen (the nice part of the drive). But between Rouen and Calais, the right foot was stretched a bit.
I think that having Nik as a passenger helped since all the cars that we saw stopped by Les Rozzers were 2-up or 4-up with blokes (obviously nothing to do with Mrs FatSteve acting as a speed controller, of course!!)
As we drove through LM on the way back, the CRS vans were out in force, must of counted about 20 or so

Near Bernay south of Rouen on the N138 the cops had about a dozen brits in two laybys opposite each other. Luckily we were at the back of a queue of slow moving stuff so were not speeding as we went past.
Met one of the guys on the Eurotunnel and he got fined 90 euros for doing 120 in a 90 in a Golf Diesel.

Me johno and the banana were taking a leisurly cruise [cough cough] and both Johno and I [sounds like royalty] got pulled, cant remmember where everything was such a blur, couldnt read any of the signs,get this, we actually got let off!! phew thought we were for it, Drove through the night, A suitable speed of 150+ was clocked down E402 not mentioning any names of course...

Fantastic run back wasn't it !! Houx to Tunnel in under 4.5 hrs ... not bad going ..
Getting let off was a highlight aswell.
Although we saw Police around, we did not see the kind of presence people are talking about here. We saw 1 guy in a MX5 getting a ticket on the way there on Thursday ... but that was it !
Went thhrough a random breathe test on way back from Arnage on Saturday night .... maybe it was just the time of day we were travelling ??

What a bummer! Still, the Frenchies did put out warnings that the traffic police would be enforcing speed limits more strictly! Hence we decided to head east instead: the Nürburgring 24 Stunden Rennen is a much better party than the Vingt-quattre Heurs du Mans: imagine 28kms worth of partying petrolheads.
The Belgian police were cooperative (on coffee breaks through-out our journeys), and the Autobahnen in Germany were clear. We smiled and waved at the frustrated Gendarmes hiding at the BP station a few KMs before Calais.
Rather than subsidising the Gendarmes' Fonds de Noel, why not spend the money on beer at the 'Ring instead next year and hurt the frogs where it matters most: in their wallets? we touched 130 a few times in france. We only saw one Speed trp, and fortunantrly was warned by friendly drivers flashing their highlights.
We left the circuit at approx. 18:30- hardly any traffic, and no cops.
P.S. well worth staying that late- I managed to meet and get photos with all the Bentley boys!!!
And the 3 3rd place Audi drivers.
I saw Vanina Ickx, but she didnt let me photograph her (she wanted to get changed...)
Hence the werdding ring will have to wait until next year.

Also left at 18:30 - N138 all the way to Rouen then Autoroute to Le Shuttle, under 5 hrs from Karting Nord, including a fuel stop.
Sadly just missed the 11:30 Shuttle and had to wait 2 hrs for the next one (engineering works & Sunday night).
Saw only one speed trap - kindly pointed out by 3 French kids on a footbridge about half a mile beforehand (and French drivers coming the other way).
Went past a group of 2 police cars and 3 police bikes sat in someone's driveway (behind a tree) whilst in the middle of overtaking some cars (and trying to keep up with an F348)......lets just say I was "making progress". Fortunately (for me) Les Flics were chatting and smoking Gitanes, however just along the road there was about 7 Brit registered cars pulled over by bike cops. If I'd been 10mins earlier or later??????

There was someone staying on our campsite who managed 155 on a quiet stretch of the autoroute between Alencon & Le Mans, they ended up having to sit in a rest stop for 20 minutes to bring down the average speed.
Alledgedly there was a Lambo driver who I had heard was clocked doing 202 mph, the French confiscated his car and locked him up for 2 mths, I really hope this is not true.
I drove back like a saint keeping to the limits as there were loads of Police around, I hope that not too many of you got fines.
Great fun, can't wait until next year.

Nice to see you got home safely Chris, we had an uneventful journey home.
We to heard of someone having to stop to get their time down in between points.
also heard some guy thought he was flying round the track on thr Friday in his TVR, until he chatted to his partner who claimed she saw all the shift lights in 3rd and fourth before she started to lift off a bit......

Not saying what speeds were attained this year, thats between us and the porker turbo that we had fun with on a motorway. On the circuit on friday night we were testing the limiter in a few gears until we noticed the police lining the route . On the way back we kept to speed limits mainly, having been warned of the locations of certain genderms... Thanks to Rude Girl and Joospeed keeping us updated on thier positions!
We couldnt warn the convoy near Calais though, but they werent going too quick when they passed us (lambo, rarri, BMW, Pork.) All with PH stickers, only recognised one of the porkers - C3 GTK on PH I think. They got to Le Shuttle fine enough though. If any of the convoy are reading this I was the young bloke that drove the Cerbera through Le shuttle itself and onto the train - didnt get a chance to say hello. Dad drove it elsewhere though which was why we kept mainly to speed limits.
Another shout-out, this time to the RatPac, nice to speak to Steve Earp and Phillip Octave. It was also quite fun to compare notes (exhaust notes) driving through le shuttle (again with me at the wheel).
Other PH cars that we spotted around lemans were LittleGearl in his bizarrely eye catching car, Beaver in his porker GT3, John Yates (who followed our cerb filled with various bits of luggage and four adults ) and others I cant remember lol.
Cant wait till next year...
Edited to add - did anyone else see two porkers - one 996, the other a 964 with the same plate. 911 PM, whichever car it belonged to, make sure its only used on the one car. Its taking things too far and is quite a large criminal offence in England and France.

BCA, That would have been us (I did wave back)... we only lost one licence between all of us, so obviously weren't trying hard enough!... I think next year we'll come back on the Monday or keep away from the N138... our fun on the way home was certainly restrained by the presence of the many Gendarmes. Luckily the trip down on Thursday was quite spirited!

Mungo, interested to see what time you hooned home? We left Le Mans @ abt 3.30 and saw literally 10's of speedtraps, gendamerie and at least 20 cars pulled, (including one in my group). Maybe you did a different route????. The caution became tedious to the point of boredom........doing 70 mph on a sunny eve, not much traffic and good roads!!!

Ah it was you then - in quite a hurry to get onto Le Shuttle IIRC, which was why I didnt come and say hi. We waved back both times you passed us and waved the TVR flag to both porsches . I decided not to come over on the train as no-one seems to like talking to a 17 year old. People assume im going to try and nick thier cars or ask them to turn on the neons
LOVE the Lambo, sounded lovely if not quite the volume I expected but the sound was superb. Also the presence, the second time you were at the back of the convoy and all of them past and my dad asked "wheres the Lambo". Looking in the mirror and seeing it full of black Diablo is a Le Man memory that will live with me for a long time.
Great convoy, nice mix of cars but you were a TVR short of total noisy ecstacy I noticed, maybe next year we will tag along a bit more Thank you and all those with you for letting us hear and see such beautiful machinary so close!!
The 360 must have been Tubi'd - we followed it for a while and that shrill V8 sound is undeniably appealling. Someday I will get a Rarri, someday..
The 993 must have also had something done to the exhaust to give out that lovely flat 6 sound. I have to say im growing quite fond of these Porsches..
The 996 looked superb in black and the wheels were stunning, never seen them before, cant comment on the sound as I didnt hear it.
The BMW M3 didnt really make me want to buy an M3 over a Porsche, not my cup of tea really.
Lovely selection, made the Cerbera seem a bit scruffy in comparison. It needs a respray following damage from someone breaking into it and could do with the front left wheel being refurbished to anthracite! (It is silver and was bought to replace the damaged wheel after a slight accident)
Other than that though the Cerb performed well and I hope it didnt let down with its sound. Theres something about the way it pops and bangs on the overrun that makes it seem worthy of such glorious company.
Need to get a Rarri (probably a 550) and a Diablo (GT in orange please) to accompany the Cerb - simply cant see us parting with it. But a few additions to the fleet would'nt be a bad idea
BCA, 360 was Tubi'd.... 993 had a Techart kit and exhaust (does sound pretty good).... 996 Turbo was X50 (hence lost licence... admittedly at only 138kph).
HOWEVER, an M3 was the star of the week-end in terms of driving. On the Thursday drive down, once we got away from the autoroutes and onto the RN's, then it was unshakable. In the "move of the week-end" (for our group at least) it outbraked the Diablo,996&993 all in VERY close proximity at the end of a dual carriageway. Very childish, but it was on one of those private testing facilities that Dazren referred to earlier. Anyway, it shows that it's the driver that can be the all important factor.
