Boost solenoid?

Hi fellas,

I've been getting some intermittent boost. It doesn't happen all the time, in fact it only happened twice in a 100 mile trip today and once the other day in a 160 mile trip.

A friend of mine has found that the part is from GM and that some of the VX and VXR boys have had problems with the solenoid leaking and causing intermittent boost.

Does any one know where I can can the right one for a GTO-3?

Hi mate, on the box it says its a GM part No;1#90424141 under that it says 08 50 430 Gr.03.6702 this was a direct replacement on my 3R hope this helps

it was accidently broken on dyno session, and replaced by Roush. But seeing as its a GM part I should think that you could pick one up from a Vauxall dealer

Boost controller packed up on mine too, changed to a AEM "tru-boost" boost controller. It's not the most advanced of the EBC's out there but it does pretty well none the less

Obes, is that the one that is linked to a digital boost gauge inside the car?

Also mate did you get the same problem as me when yours went?

Yes and Yes

Mine basically got stuck so I had barely any boost, then it popped open, then it got stuck again... ! I could probably have opened it all up and cleaned it out, but I am a sucker for a gadget !

The tru-boost is a 52mm Electronic gauge, so goes straight in where the existing one was. Buttons on the front to switch from Off, "A" boost and "B" boost.

I have ordered a new replacement for now. Although it might not be my problem as it's very intermittent. Most of the time the car is fine and then it will happen. Oh well, it's worth a try for £20.
