Where to buy parts and stuff

Spent all day polishing, and now want to start fettling. As a complete novice some help on where to buy parts for an S2, such as spark plugs, coils gaskets, filters etc, etc, etc. Can you get most of the parts from Ford. I assume they stock or order most things at Ford parts departments or is that too simple?

Only been to a Ford parts department once - and they got the wrong part in. A distributor cap. Not too hard you would think.

Better to stick to good motor factors, ebay, even halfords.

Mark, I tend to keep looking on ebay, you can get some real bargains.
Latest acquisition is a new set of Bosch spark plug leads for the V8 for £15.

As Chris says some parts can be sourced from ebay particularly as some are no longer supplied by Ford. For the normal consumables such as plugs, leads, filters, etc. I use my local factor who is helpful as well as reasonably priced. Many of the routine service parts are listed in the Steve Parker list for S series(www.tvrsseries.com) or can be found here usually by asking the question if you are stuck. The TVR harder to find/peculiar bits are available usually from TVR Car Parts or the other similar suppliers - again advice usually readily available on here if you can't find them yourself.
