facelift TT ride-height upgrade?

I've been looking at the early TT's for some time now but just can't help but notice the difference in ride height after they lowered the car by 30mm in 2001/2.

Does anyone know, is it possible to replace the springs on an early model TT with some later springs to make the ride height the same as the later models? Or is it just not quite as simple as this.......
