S1 2.8 Gearbox

Hi Adrian, just had a quick look in Steve Heath's bible, it says that the 2.8 litre S1 used the ford 'type N' gearbox.
There's also reference to an MT75 gearbox but says that is the exception rather than the rule and only on a few 2.9 litre models anyway, so don't know if it will fit the 2.8. Knowing Ford I bet it will, though what implications it has for propshaft, gearbox mounts, speedo cable etc it has I don't know.
It does say the MT75 gearbox is stronger than the type N gearbox, but that the type N gearbox has slightly lower ratios which gives better acceleration.

Will have to get together for a bit of tyre kicking sometime.
