Dink's Klassiekerrally 2007 blog
Discussion
As usual an excellent event: top weather, top entries, top atmosphere and a ride in a Diablo SV . . . More about that later, let's have a look at the cars:
Gorgeous line-up of Mog, Matra and a duo of early 911's.
Brilliant Cooper with all the bits, no rear seats!
Mog's spare.
Fine 2.4.
Yank beef:
C2 beautifull red Vette.
Look at the exhausts.
Classy 289 with a Cobra Ford in. No overstatement here.
Is this too much? I think not: XK120 coupe.
Owners drove 3 hours to get here. I want one.
Yours truly with the '26 Buescher.
Next: there's so much more. Expect a full months blog folks
I thought not much could top last years event, but never trust expectations: this one was even better.
Cheers, Dink.

Nice footage from our Dutch Autoblog.nl friends.
At 40 secs: GTRene's Hartge and Kewly / Dink (waving) passing by. GT40 rep, Messerschmidt 3-wheeler, Tiger Moths flying by and loads of classics in a massive crowd. Tom tells the story about his immaculate Lamborghini Espada, my pick of the bunch.
Edit to add: even more pics here.

Thanx Rene, will you bring your rocketship Hartge over to the Nring October 8th?
That would be awesome. I'm sure some of the UK boys'd love to see that supercar killing piece of Beemer. Some effing torque!
Loved the ride as always. Damp roads meant tricky corners but hey: it really holds and is controleable.
The sound when floored is real dzjerman muscle. Respect . . . and don't sell it, they told me

Thx mr Sax Dink, I've made a notice of that day and think I will be there too, maybe by that time we also can drop a line on driving-fun.com ringtopic and see if some others can come too, and hope it will be dry over-there cause a wet Ring with nick name "Green Hell" says enoughThat would be awesome. We were very very lucky that it didn't rain like it rained last night: the meadow is so wet now, that I almost got stuck with the McCormick tractor!
I wonder whyIndeed Wim, we were very lucky indeed, one day longer without rain would be better for you guys though.

Haha René! You should have seen the mud! (And smelled it! )
are you sure it was mud then what stick-ed under your boots? lol (I'm in a funny mood) Sunday morning when its was raining a bit I saw some fast cars with big wide tires almost have no traction when they tried to get of the field, so I can imagine what will happen when its raining very hard! also the place around the apple tree smelled also by rotten apple's smashed on the field
But you survived survival of the fittest

There's that luverly '69 Southern Roadcraft 289 again (302 fitted BTW). IMO the best Cobra-shape. Those 427's are a bit too macho IYAM.
Of course they look the absolute nuts, but somehow they only make sense if there's really huge power up front. Beefy Rover V8 in this one.
So yes, a 275 hp V8 will make fine progress and sounds OK. Scare Rari's every now and then . . .
. . . but it doesn't have the 7 litre-badge just for looks. It effing needs a master-torque tire-eating axle-splitting piece of Yank steel in. This red baby can be seen in the vid posted on page 1. Great accelerating action there.
The 911 to have.
British steel:
MGA lump, if I'm correct.
Scimitar V6, never seen one of those.
More Healey's to come. Some imaculate and utter gorgeous 100s . . .
One of my favs of the meadow: Fiat 508 S Balilla Coppa d'oro, 1934
600 kgs, fourpot 1 litre, 30 hp, 115 kmh, 3 speed box.
This guy and his wife did the 2007 Mille Miglia in it and was Best on Show at Spa/Italia 2007.
The owner bought it in '64 and drives it . . . Fantastic!
"Hey, there's more over there!"
Tomorrow.
And check this for Heidi's pics. Great stuff there

I think it's an MGB...MGA lump, if I'm correct.

I like that one very much. The owner bought it on Ebay. As it is a very unknown car over here, he didn't pay too much. It has a Ford V6 in it. I guess it is the Essex V6.Church of Noise said:
Great pics Dinkel! Didn't know you 're into music too.
I WAS into music. Before my 2 girls I used to semi-pro altosax in bigbands, jamsessions, I had my kwintet, did festivals, sit-ins at bands, etc.Since nightlife and babies don't really combine I quit and pick up the axe every now and then.
So thanx to my daughters I'm into cars now
This year a record of 100 cars doing the rally and about 30 on the supercarpaddock area.
Early morning Opel Record. Meadow's ready to take huge crowd and a bit too much cars. But hey, we know now
This colour suits Aston DB6 just fine. It's 10ish and cars dropping in every minute now, guided by Tom and Wim to park tight.
Tom's gorgeous S1 Etype. Behind it two projects: cocooned XK120 almost done and barnfind XK150, both dropheads.
Typical allsorts of everything overview: nice S with 2.9 V6 was just ready after extensive restauration.
Wiesmann brought 2 cars for all day display: yellow Roadster and drop-dead gorgeous GT coupe with flappy padels. A primeur, I wonder if there were journo's to catch it though. Both drove along with the 100 rallycars: they loved it to bits.
W'mann enthusiast GTRene always attract crowds with his thundering 420 hp / 530 NM Hartge. Effing fast thingy and he might just drop by at the Ring oct 8th. The car's for sale but by God do I hope he still has it then.
Amazing in the early 70s both these cars drove side by side on our motorways: Big Healey and bigger Espada, as featured on the autoblogclip. More and more people seem to like the 4-seater.
Ex-ABBA drummer Countach has nearly 400 hp on the rearwheels. LP5000S sounds like nothing else.
Next: it's getting busy, rally's getting started. Will drop some this eve

I also never seen such Scimitar till that day, and it was not bad at all, had to look twice though because my mind could not remember the model, so I guess I've also learned something that day great picture's Albert, most picture's I even did not see you took them...sneaky dinky
