A new business partner and I are likely to start marketing an automotive related product during the next few months and it lends itself very nicely to online purchasing.

Can any of you entrepreneurs out there recommend any of the online merchant software and services such as NetBanx, Worldpay etc? Are there smaller ones more suitable for small businesses that might require less % per transaction?

There will probably be just three variants of the product each at a difference price.

We haven't yet set up a credit card facility. Is it best to do this first?

Thank you in advance

Worldpay are pretty good and prices are not to bad, if you need any help drop me mail

You can either get an internet merchant account from your bank, or let worlpay do it all - there is a small saving to be had from the former

I can thoroughly recommend Worldpay. (touch wood) I've not had any problems whatsoever in 2+ years of trading using their systems.

We used them for blackcircles.com, no technical problems with them, support helpful etc.

However, you might want to look at www.secpay.com as well, they take a slightly smaller cut than worldpay.

If your starting out and don't need anything complicated, Worldpays 'click-n-build' storefront is a good start.

Its very very basic but for a limited number of products it will do the job. Further down the line, if the website starts to generate some income, you can look to a more advanced package or bespoke solution.

Thanks chaps - it loks like I'll go down the Worldpay route then though I'll check out Secpay too.

Thanks for the offer Dontlift
