Discussion
I have just bought a fantastic house with my girlfriend and her Father has kindly offered to do all the work we want doing for free (He is a builder). He has offered to pay for the bathroom suite also (a basic Armitage one) but we are to pay extra for a more bespoke one. I have been looking on the Internet and have decided there is a suite from 'Plumbworld' that I really like and is half the price of the stuff in Wickes, Travis Perkins et al'.
I have heard plenty of stories about Internet companies, delivery and failure of any customer service over the years and was wondering if anyone has had dealings or heard anything about this company?
I have definitely got to do my research on this as my girlfriends Mother is getting very interested in the decor of the house now that her husband is working on it (Starting to make me regret letting this go ahead now) and would like to do a 'I told you to get the one I chose in the first place' speech quite soon.
Any help greatly appreciated

Excellent news guys, exactly what i was looking for as I couldn't bear having the 'I told you......' speech. I am getting to the point where my sarcastic wit was going to be mis-understood again by asking girlfriends Mother just exactly how much of the monthly outgoings she is contributing to.
I think the best way to make sure nothing is damaged is to open the suite upon delivery with to inspect whilst making the driver a cup of tea and sending it back with him if damaged.
Anyone bought a whole suite? Is the quality up to standard?

Good old PH search facility....
Ive just had the following email from 'Plumbworld'

Smells of a scam, so went to their website www.plumbworld.co.uk to get a telephone number. The number goes through to a professional sounding recorded switchboard, which only gives me the option of Customer Services. That option tells me that they only accept email enquiries and then cuts off. The email return header shows @plumbworld.co.uk but its to a Kirsty.Koots not the email signaturee (not uncommon I know)
Is this the same Plumworld you guys have bought through? It all smells fishy to me.

email said:
Dear Sir/Madam,
Thank you for your recent order with Plumbworld.
As you will be aware credit card fraud is a major issue for internet businesses. Unfortunately our automated checking system has identified your order as “High Risk”.
The system looks at a number of factors that have in the past been linked to attempted frauds, such as:
- Delivery to an address different to the credit card holders address
- High total order value
- No trace of the cardholder on the electoral roll
- Mobile telephone numbers used
- Disposable email addresses such as hotmail.com
- And many other factors.
Your order has some features that are associated with fraud attempts and therefore we need to carry out some further checks before we can release your goods.
I am sorry that you have been caught up in this process and we will try to make the additional checks as quick and painless as possible. Any one of the following will enable us to release your order:
1) If you can email us your full name, date of birth, sex (m/f) and driving licence number (this applies to the card holder only).
or
2) If you can email us the authorisation number from the transaction (available by ringing your card company).
or
3) If you can email us the date and exact time that your card was charged (available from an online statement).
or
4) If you can provide us with a copy of proof of identity, drivers licence, passport, or copy of the card itself. These can be emailed (scans), faxed to 01386 768492 or posted. Again, this applies to the card holder only.
I would like to apologise once again for any inconvenience caused.
Kind regards,
Chrissie Holder

Mystery solved
I bought a power tool off an internet based company called Toolbox. And received confirmation from Toolbox.
It turns out Plumbworld are a sister company of Toolbox and they sent out the 'we need to contact you' email from the Plumbworld server by mistake
Due to me not responding, they cancelled the order
As you where
