Just had mine on a rolling road on the Wirral. 328.9bhp a the wheels, which I say was to be expected ( my guess before the run was 330 ).

Snuffy, I would say that is better than standard..if it is power at the wheels rather than the fly.
Have you had any mods, as that gives roughly 390 BHP at the flywheel.
(allowing approx 15% for transmission losses)

Arse, I meant at the flywheel. I'm always getting them reversed.

Having followed your Esprit tinkering have you any plans to play? 330bhp isn't that bad as it's within a nats whisker of 5% of quoted when new.

Esprit tinkering is very cheap when compared to the Nob. I changed the filters to ITG foam ones, changed the cats to sports cats and removed the silencer and just had pipes off the cats. A couple of BOVs as well ( no extra both for those ofcause ). That lot was about £700. It was dynoed at 425 at the flywheel, i.e. 75 bhp more than standard ( on a different rolling road to yesterday ).

I am tempted to do a few things like that. I would imagine with no air flow on a RR the intercooler wont be doing much as well so that would drop the power a bit.

Hmm - Nobles are a bit harder to extract gains from!

A H and S exhaust with uprated fuel pump/loom would come in at about 1100 quid and that should give a real world 60 horses which is not bad value IMHO

Even though that BHP increase may be possible, I doubt you'll get it unless you include careful tuning with an ECU reflash as part of the upgrade package--i.e., at an additional expense.

Esprit V8s are downtuned because the the renault gearbox not being up to the job. Whack on a couple of intercoolers and wind the boost up and it will easily make 500 ponies, but the box will explode !!
