Hi all.

Am looking to buy my first Golf which is advertised as a 1.9 GT TDI 130 Highlife....think he must mean Highline.

When I input the registration into the Dayinsure website it isn't recognised and gives me 1.9 (90) model options to chose from.

I've previously done a search and found that the Highline 130 model is the same as a GT TDI 130 but I can I confirm this when looking at the actual car?

many thanks

I'm sure most Highlines have full leather interiors, but after just doing a quick search on www.uk-mkivs.net the highline spec originates in Germany and could well just be the same as GTi spec over here.

Join up and do a search. I'm sure you'll find the answer to that and many other things over there.

As far as I know there is only one way to reliably determine the model/engine.
There is a sticker in the boot which should have all the IDs you'd need to know.
You need to check the kW rating on the sticker to determine the engine.
The conversion from bhp to kW is to multiply by 0.73549875.
The sticker will say:
115bhp = 85kW, 130bhp = 96kW, 150bhp = 110kW

Don't relying on any aspects of the interior or colours of TDI badges.

Also bear in mind they may have just looked at the boot sticker. Mine states Highline, although it is not an import. It basically implies it has the highest standard spec, although most cars will have non-standard options fitted anyway.

This has been shown to be boocks on many occasions - the dealers are free to throw on whatever coloured badge they like.
