Awesome. Ive not seen that before. Very cool, but does anyone have a link to the porsche vs viper vs caterham vs cerb video?

IIRC, it was a 4.2, although some fettling was done to the cerb on the morning of the shoot. Im after the video, but if anyone has any more info on the actual run, Im all ears.

Without sounding ungrateful (and I really dont know why, but I didnt think these vids were you youpube) there was a slightly better/longer clip (of the same thing) in which a griff was making some incredible sounds doing donughts in a cloud of smoke just before the cerbera review.

Not sure, I believe that one was a 4.2.

Now I didnt take mine to the likes of santa pod etc, when I had it, but do remapped 4.5's achieve sub-30-second standing miles, with a good start?

it doesnt matter how many times i see that vid it always makes me smile. Colin Blower doing the track driving and John Ravenscroft doing the drag race isnt it?

I think it belongs to Peter Wheeler's missus. I know she has a pink Cerb on an M plate, and they live not far from me. Would be a bit of a coincidence if there were two pink Cerbs on an M plate.

Btw, why is your name Sam Gamgee, but your signature Dave? I've never heard of a famous Sam Gamgee

It was on an N plate. With regards to the engine, it has been covered on here before and I'm sure someone in the know said that the day before the shoot, they shoved an engine in it out of a TVR Tuscan racer.

I would imagine just about, given the speeds are in excess of 160mph and times of 25.5-26secs already seen for the 3/4 mile.
idea The cars are already travelling in excess of 71ms and need to cover approximately another 400 meters in 4.5 secs, if they maintain the same speed they are roughly 80m and 1 sec short of braking the 30s mark. Add further acceleration its got to do-able yes.

I still have that Top Gear vid somewhere and have lasting memories of the Cerb out dragging the lot of them. IIRC Ferrari and one or two others refused to take part laugh

Covered here many times over but to recap, the Cerbera in the drag racing video was a dead straight 4.2 with a decat. Nothing more or less. JR was driving and amazed himself by how well it went. Talking to him after the even he told me he'd absolutely nailed the start which contributed quite a bit to the rest of the run and ultimate success.

Not sure who it belongs to now. Can't see VW driving a Cerbera. Lauross, You aren't confusing it with DC are you who has an M-plate one-off "Desert Rose" coloured Cerbera...? What area do you live in / where have you seen it...? That should confirm it.

The videos of the drag race on t'interweb including this one are actually the one that I captured years and years ago just after I bought the Clarkson video with it on*. I remember then thinking the Cerbie sounded amazing as it gets into it's stride later down the runway. Just looked at it again now and it's still got that hairs-on-end spine tingling sound. Bloody brilliant...! thumbup

Same car Autocar Dyno'd at 359bhp after they were suspicious over its pace! smile Other PH'ers 4.2's have dyno'd higher figures than that since... amazing cars!!

Bob, you missing it?? Pop down to the Speed trials mid-Sept if you want to see how a 72k mile old tired-looking Cerbera 4.5 compares to exotic stuff on the road!! wink
