Road to Lausanne

I am planning to drive to Piedmont and from there to Germany in a months time- my preffered Route would go via the great St Bernard pass so I need to get to Lausanne.
I know myself around there and on the way back but going down there would take me through France either from Boulougne or Dunkerque...
Can anyone in the community advise me on a nice road and a stopover before or short after the Swiss border (w. safe parking)
Are the Swiss likely to let me in (T 350 with JP Exhaust but cats???)
Looking forward to some nice continental driving...
