Very dodgy transalation but I don't like the look of it, does this mean no drag racing/burnouts at Arnage/Indianapolis on Friday?
mungo said: Apparently years ago (we are talking early eighties)just after the WAKO martial arts championships I think in Lyon or somewhere, can't remember much detail except some of the karate guys started brawling with some locals and a couple of them ended up going home in bodybags after disagreeing with the French armed police.
That's nothing, in '61 they massacred 200-300 Algerians & chucked them in the Seine. Probably a bit harsh for a few burnouts though!
If it follows the example of the bikes in April it was the heaviest policing I'd ever seen down there and they were stomping on any bad behaviour very hard and very quickly. Mind you the bikes 24hr does have a bit of a rep for bad behaviour that makes the cars look like a pensioners shopping trip (like a few dozen fatalities every year)
The thing is though when the normal plod turns up, they care more that seatbelts are fastened than the fact the driver is holding half a bottle of stella.
Last year, they stoppedone westfiend at mason blanche and took his beer off him whilst he did his seatbelt up. then they gave him his beer and watched him burnout. the CRS though .... Nasty buggers.. dont piss them off. last year when it got out of hand, they were pushing some of the brits that were lining the roads for having just their toes on the tarmac.. one hand on gun too. the few that pissed them off were warned in a vert visible hand on pistol fashion not to try it again.
We somply went into mason Blanche though and supersoakered them through the gaps in the concrete wall vive la supersoaker CRS scum!
