Hi,

Considering I run www.tyrereviews.co.uk I feel a bit silly asking this, and realise this topic will have been done to death but the search isn't working at the moment so I'll have to ask anyway - sorry.

My track car runs s02's at the moment, I was just wondering if anyone knew either anyone that still has them in stock, or what makes a good match as I don't want to run imbalanced grip / sidewall stiffness on track.

I'm after a 205/45 16

thanks

Jon

Two suggestions, just from personal experience:

1. Don't get SO3s as the sidewall seems about twice as stiff to me - changed the whole feel of the car, for the worse in my case as already had some suspension mods.

2. I found the Toyo Proxes T1-Rs to be pretty similar - plenty of discussion in other threads about pros and cons but I really like them.

If you have a look on the internet there are actually specs for tyres' sidewall stiffness and the softness/grippiness of the rubber so you might be able to match that way.

Hi Chap,

I've got SO2's on mine which are coming off in about 3 weeks as the fronts are wearing on the inside.

The rears have some life in them if you want them?

Mail me and we'll arrange.
Donny

Gooner,

Thanks for the tips. I'm not a huge fan of T1Rs for track work as I've seen them fall apart after 4 or 5 hard laps! I'll try and find sidewall stiffness information (and add it to my site!) as it's not something i've come across before.

Donny,

How wide are the rear tyres? I've 225s and 245s coming out of my ears at the moment, I just need 205s for the front as due to the camber i run I can't fit anything wider under the arches.
