If I fit some standard skinny wheels to the front of my RWD polo and pump them up to 40 psi or so will this have any effect on my 1/4 mile times. I think less rubber on the road so less drag so faster times????

I'm not a serious racer like some on here but my car has a greater front to rear weight bias due to the weight of the engine. So anything that reduces the front end mass will help the car pitch and roll.

My polo is mid engined so that should be a problem.

Not only are you reducing weight, but you're reducing rotating weight instead of just dead weight, meaning your engine has to turn it as well as push it. A pound of rotating weight equal abouts ten pounds of dead weight, ET-wise.

i was thinking about doing this with my legend at some point. ive noticed on a windy day my et and mph can be down as much as .6 of a second and 9mph. i know the cars only small but its shaped like a breeze block and with only 120hp it really suffers....having said that i think new cams and a nitrous kit are first on the list just to get a bit more at the top end
