Anyone got a Cooper or Cooper S for sale .... must be a MK1 or MK11 in good condition (1962 - 6199). No cars re-shelled with a MK111 shell thanks all the same.
I've decided I can't resist one any longer!
If you know of any for sale please give me a bell on 0777 3077703.
Many thanks guys and gals

Well ..... I quickly realised that nobody was going to give me one! On the other hand I've no intention of paying some of the more silly inflted prices that some of the dealers are asking ..... £17000 even for a MK1 'S' is outrageous!
I know that they're won't be making any more ... but I'm hoping to find a nice one that just needs a little bit of tidying for a more sane figure.

why is it?

if its restored very very well or has a provinence its a simple asking price! nobody has to pay it!

i know of a few minis - not just 's's that have sold for similar (or even more) money.

dont forget, its costs the same to restore a mini to a high standard as it does any other car

A good car 1275 Cooper S that is either original or has been painstakingly restored will stand you 10K minimum....

The other S variants... just keeping looking up the price scale because of the rarity.

If having a concours origninal car is your thing... fine. If not I'd get an 'S' replica (Mk1 /2) with a great spec and go out and enjoy driving it. That or a later car. You don't have to spend millions, they are all great fun!

A chap I know makes old Mk1 mini's into cooper s's with registration documents. There are quite a few of them around. If you ask me, a fool and his money are soon parted.

We have to remember that they are just all mini's really.

I went to a local farm auction recently and there was a very tatty/rusty 1071s which went for £3.8K and it was basically a modified, incomplete POS. It had the correct block but the wrong box/head/interior/wheels/blah blah.

If you are talking £14K, you may as well buy a Mk1 TVR Griffith and have something that goes like an AC Cobra

Then he's a fraudelent conman and needs to be "outed" for the benefit of the wider Mini community....

Either that or you are talking a load of old bovine excrement sh!t.

He is from Torquay and deals in mostly Mk1 rare bits on ebay. Nothing to do with the very good local mini shop. What got me especially angry was his attitude towards "the stupid public". I'm not prepared to out his name on a public forum as there could be repercussions and consequences.

I just sold a 970S for £15K beginning to think I sold it to cheap.

1070S is now in paint , but I think I'll keep that one .
