Doesnt want to play.

Cant start the motor.
Engine turns over strongly.
Non of the dials spring into life on the turn of the key, and there are no lights on the dash
Hazards, horn, lights, stereo all work

Have checked fuses, checked connectors on steering column. Have cursed, prayed, sulked and even kicked the tyres a bit but still nothing!!!

Any ideas to get me out in the sunshine please? BTW electrics scare the hell outta me so words of one sylable please.

Urmm, call a mechanic

Typical how cars have this uncanny knack of packing up just when you want to have some fun.

have you tested the battery voltage ie is it +12v, and as you turn the key can you hear the petrol pump pressurise the fuel circuit?

Sounds rather like the 12v ignition switched feed has failed. Unless you fancy tracking it down yourself, you need to find a decent automotive electrician to fix it for you.

Happy again!!!
It was a bad connection near the steering wheel.
The nice chap from the AA with all his diagnostic stuff found it and fixed it.

Now im off out for a spin, the suns gone in!
