A-Pillar guage pods
Discussion
simple question really, does anybody supply A-pillar guage pods for the m12? the sort of thing which replaces the factory trim with an item which takes two 50mm guages?
i dont mean a tacky halfords universal thing though, when i had my evos replacement trims were available that looked really good.
would like to add oil temp and pressure to mine when i get it as i believe these are the most important two things to keep an eye on
i assume sandwhich plates are acceptable? oh who is best to supply them also?
cheers

If you hang on a week or two i may have just what you are looking for. Mainly becasue aftermarket steering wheels block vision of the two small gauges.
I'm in the process of fabricating a housing to hold two 50mm gauges and a row of shift lights.
OEM looking, no wiring, no drilling etc required.
Pictures soon.

What i mean is i've found a way of having all wiring hidden away.. With no mods to dash required.peterguk said:

would be interested in the housing though, is it for the A Pillar?
I added some engine monitoring digitally...
Used the defi system (I was a bit paranoid after I blew the engine up) !
.....well, that and I'm a sucker for a gadget!
It monitors; water temp, oil temp, oil pressure, fuel pressure, egt, boost, rpm & boost. It does a limited amount of data logging but the good thing is you set a warning level for each thing and it flashes and beeps if you get to it.

No offence but aren't A-pillar gauges a bit Max Power?
Not really...they serve a purpose and were used in racing long before they could be bought by Wayne in Halfords. It's like saying low profile tyres are a bit Max Power.I want an oil temp/pressure gauge (the factory didn't fit one from new, despite it being on the spec sheet
) but I'm not going to have oil feeds routed to the dash retrospectively (time/money/cock-up potential).Who's got a photo of Nathans dash/dials?
Martin.

I used the second plug in the sump for the temp and the exising low pressure sensor for the pressure. Both just cables up the tunnel

Nathan used spa ones
electronic guages are much easier, just need a sandwich plate for the sensors and a bit of wiring. had defi guages before and found them really good.
will probably go for the link display as i reckon A Pillar pods that look OEM are not too redily available for the noble.
also by goinf the defi route, one can allways add sensors to give more readouts, exhaust gas temp is allso quite a good thing to keep an eye on

Think the M400's had the gauges basically sdide by side, as i think its hard to see the oil gauge right down in that corner. O/T but why do the earlier cars only have one switch on the dash while later two. Dumb question alert!
The second switch was originally going to be for two boost settings IIRC, that idea was binned, but the switch wasn't.Gassing Station | Noble | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
