Following on from the success of our last TVR adventure into North Wales in March its time for the final run of the summer into North Wales or as the tourist board call it ‘The Big Country’. We need something to cheer us up after all the recent rain

So here it is the North Wales 25th August Bank Holiday Tour. It’s the last Saturday of the month and we’ll all be ready for hoon after the rain.

We are going to meet up with Woody's TVR crew as detailed in Sprint

The trip takes a fair bit of planning and time so I going to ask for a £10 donation per car to the charity Wispa - World Society for the Protection of Animals (particularly bears - you got to love em) https://www.wspadonations.org/wspauk.aspx. I’ll collect the money on the day – get those tenners ready!

The route is 179 miles. We’ll start out at 9.30 and stop for lunch around
Betws y Coed for lunch at 12.30ish. There’s 2 or so hours of driving in the afternoon before heading to the Lion Quays Hotel outside Owestry (OK, Chirk if your local), where we can finish up at about 5.30 pm.

We can take a few beers at Lion Quays and maybe a meal. For those who wish to stay Saturday night , I've selected Lion Quays. www.lionquays.co.uk
The rooms cost £95 for a Double and £75 for a single. They will offer lower rates just haggle.

The route will avoid the main routes and take in more challenging scenic roads. We’ll take in our favourite roads from the last trip.

We’ll start out a few miles closer at the Shrewbury Dobbies garden Centre Roundabout Roundabout. The same one used for the October tour.

I believe we had 32 cars last time so maybe we should all purchase some cheap walkie talkie this time like the Binatone MR150. See ebay http://search.ebay.co.uk/search/searc' target='_blank'> http://search.ebay.co.uk/search/searc

I've got Autoroute 2006 so you can download direction and TomTom Files. I supply details a few days before.

Anyway post if you wish to join.

Hi John,

Good to meet up with you and Karen again at Rockingham. I'll be joining you on 25th of course. Love those Welsh roads, especially that bit above the A5biggrin You know the one, begins with an e. Any chance of including the A4212 this time? I'll try and drum up some interest amongst the WWM crew at Chimfest this Sunday.

Hi Johnbear, chalk me down provisionally, in desperate need of a sicknote (Icb, can you advise please) cars also gagging for a service, any chance of visiting the go kart circuit again, knowing which way the track goes we have a very good chance of keeping the locals off the podium and up the mountains doing what they are best at.
