What is the best 60 ft times you can hope to achieve on street tyres ?

Stevieturbo seems to do rather well although I'm no expert. He may pootle along in a bit.

You could possably expect 1.8 or 1.9 at york. Maybe quicker at the pod or shakey. Why dont you get some mickey T`s or hoosiers for the polo. They are street tyres.

I was 2.0 seconds at york. I have been looking into getting some M/Ts etc but I think I will meed some major arch mods and new wheels first.

What size are your tyres and wheels you use now ? And what size do you think you could get away with ?

15" wheels 195/45/15 tyres . I think that I am about at the limit without rolling the arches etc

Is this on normal road tyres or the high wall drag tyres that are road legal ?

I think the street eliminators are in a diffrent class. Tyres ranging from 10" wide to 21" wide and built purly for the job and hooking up is the main concern.

Most of the class are running on M/T Sportsman Pros, some Hoosiers and a few, like me, are running BFG drag radials. All DOT approved street legal tyres. Best 60ft i achieved before the engine swap i.e. in a stock camaro, Nitto drag radials, 2200 converter and with a bit of gas was 1.57

Ive seen your car go ray and its awsome. I think all of the street eliminaters run between 1.3 to 1.6 60ft times as they have bags of power and built to hook up and i suppose to biggest benefit is that it used to be run at the pod and now is run at shakey so the traction is max there. Ive got a photo in my profile of the proof of how sticky the track is at avon park, and that was on sportsman pro`s.
We normally run at york and i need slicks to grip anything like i can at the southen tracks.

Yes the tyres are MT`s sportsman pro`s. that was my 10.8s run. I carried the front wheels well past the 60 ft beam. Now i have just ran a 10.7 at york on slicks. Im a very happy guy.
Im hoping to go to the pod, When i was talking to john sleath at york at the weekend he said shakey is no comparisment compaired to the pod.. Cant wait.

Yeah, I think that was on M/T Street Radials although it has left like that on BFG's too a couple of times

Changing the converter (and tyres) last season caused a few headaches, trying to find the "sweet spot" on the launch is one of them
