At York raceway on the 27th there is a "GTI hot hatch spectacular"

I would like to enter this event and not just go for the RWYB.

Do I turn up on the day and enter ?

Do I have to join the PDRC ?

Surely just ringing or emailing the track is easier

Its not a PDRC meeting, just RWYB so no need to join the club. Just turn up on the day, scrutineer, sign on and race!

Glad you like my site by the way thumbup

It will be good to see yours up against the twin vr6 turbo. There is always some cool golfs there with plenty of power for been a front wheel drive.

Hi HatchHeads !
There is a strong tuning community for VWs in Germany, of course,
and 2 weeks ago a new "best time ever" was set at a quartermile event.
A guy has fitted his POLO with a 4cyl. 16V Turbo engine and 4motion drive,
he got down the strip in 9,61 sec @ 147mph .
Infos can be seen at http://www.ame-racing.de/dragracer/galerie_Polo1_Dragster.shtml
http://www.materialmord.de/polo1_by_speedmakers_vogtland.htm
Don´t get fooled by the number plates though,
this car can never be registered for german traffic.
The builder/driver did not only fit lexan windows all over and added carbon body parts,
he even removed parts of the steel floor,
this would never pass a dragracing tech inspection, also no rollcage.
Cheers,
Benni

Hi Benni
running a 9 second quarter with no rollcage seems a bit scary to me, dont think i'd try it.
