XBox360 HD connectivity
Discussion
pologies if this has been done before......
I am about to purchase a HD TV and intend to connect my Xbox360 to it.
I currently have a DVD recorder which I have always connected to the TV via a component lead. I understand that this is the connection that the Xbox requires and there is only one component input on the TV.
My DVD recorder has HDMI output. Is HDMI equivalent quality to component or superior/inferior??

Yup, HDMI is the way forward if you have it. If you don't have your 360 yet though, you could always wait and get an elite. That has HDMI output, and is more useful for higher res. ie if your DVD recorder isn't HD or Blu ray, component is fine.
Already got the 360. DVD recorder is not HD or Blu-Ray. Are HD or Blu-Ray recorders on sale yet? disad-vantage-d said:

No. Nor are they likely to be for a long time.If your player has HDMI it's likely to upscale to a HD signal tho. (Don't confuse HD from DVD with HD-DVD
)As has been said, my 360 is on a VGA Cable (£10?) to keep my components free for my ageing prog scan component DVD.
